A Taste of Africa, a Congolese festival of music and food, with Mama Africa and Mabiba Baegne. Check it out Friday, April 20, 6 p.m. at Pierpont Place in downtown SLC.
A preview of Science on Tap V: Precariously Balanced Rocks, with:
- Seismologist Dr. Amir Allam, featured speaker at Thursday’s event. He’s a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Utah in Geology and Geophysics and is a Seismologist
- Audrey Rutz, Science On Tap CEO
- Sky Hatter, Science on Tap Chief Creative Officer

Plastic Nation Aggravation panel, featuring:
- Laura Bellefontaine, campaign director of Strawless in SLC, which is working with local restaurants to switch out plastic straws for biodegradable ones.
- Cat Palmer, art activist and director of Strawless in SLC’s video campaign.
- Melissa Metzler, founder and curator of Flow Art Space, which opens a new exhibit in honor of this year’s Earthy Day theme: Imaging a World Without Plastic Pollution.”
