Middletown - Inspired by an unconventional teacher, a group of teenagers in upstate New York in the early 1990s made a student film that uncovered a vast conspiracy involving toxic waste that was poisoning their community. Thirty years later, they revisit their film and confront the legacy of this transformative experience. This is from the filmmakers that brought us Boys State.

Jesse Moss’ directing work includes Girls State and Boys State (2020 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize: Documentary), War Game, The Overnighters (2014 Sundance Special Jury Prize), The Mission, and Mayor Pete. Moss won a 2024 Emmy Award for Girls State and a 2021 Emmy Award for Boys State.

Amanda McBaine

Amanda McBaine’s directing work includes Girls State, Boys State (2020 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize: Documentary), and The Mission.
