This Week on RadioACTive, M-F at 6PM

Weeknights from 6-7 PM, RadioACTive passes the mic to grassroots activists, community builders, punk rock farmers, and DIY makers and musicians. Coming up:

Monday, June 15: RadioACTive Pop! blends SLAC’s The Gaslight Zone with Black Noir and Juneteenth. Plus, NAACP’s Jeanetta Williams.

Tuesday, June 16: Tala Noa’s Stephanie Mahina returns with filmmakers and organizers behind the annual Masima Film Festival @ SLFS. Plus, Black Noir, Animal Rights Awareness Week, World Refugee Day, and Lil Poppet’s production of Sam Shepard’s True West. Plus, Black Noir.

Wednesday, June 17: RadioACTive passes the microphone to Utah International Charter School students to tell their stories. RA contributor Kyle Forbush brings us busking sounds as we launch a Summer Singer-Songwriter Challenge. Plus, Black Noir.

Thursday, June 18: RadioACTive Workshop launches the America250 Book Club with Threadwork Collective and 1974 Bookstore SLC. Plus, Black Noir.

Friday, June 19: Happy Juneteenth National Independence Day! Tune in for clips of our Black Noir Collab for the holiday. Juneteenth marks one of the oldest known commemorations related to the abolition of slavery in the United States. Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on Jan. 1, 1863. It still took two-and-a-half years for Union troops to reach Galveston, Texas, and enforce the proclamation that had already liberated enslaved people in other Confederate states.
