BBB's Wild and Scenic Film Festival with Russell Roots of the Utah Film Center. Reframing the Conversation -- Inclusive Histories Matter with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Utah.

Russell Roots of Utah Film Center, which curates the Black Bold and Brilliant series with KRCL and other community partners. Together, we've partnered with Outdoor Afro Salt Lake City, Tracy Aviary, and Wild & Scenic Film Festival to bring you their first-ever Mini Film Festival!

Reframing the Conversation: In our partnership with Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion - University of Utah, we shared an excerpt from the latest lecture in this series, Inclusive Histories Matter. Drawing on experts from across campus and the community to spark important conversations around racism, othering, and safety, tonight's featured panel included:

  • Camden Alexander, Opinion Writer, The Daily Utah Chronicle
  • Kathleen Spencer Christy, Ph.D., Educational Consultant
  • Stuart Culver, Ph.D., Dean, College of Humanities, Associate Professor, Department of English
  • Edmund Fong, Ph.D., Associate Professor & Chair, Division of Ethnic Studies, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science
  • Dr. William A. Smith, Professor & Chair, Department of Education, Culture, & Society, Professor, Division of Ethnic Studies

Reframing the Conversation is a monthly hybrid series. Attendees can join in person at the Marriott Library’s Gould Auditorium or virtually at diversity.utah.edu/rtc.
