Friday, Aug. 28: As we wrap up #UtahMusicMonth, Aldine the Punk Rock Farmer brings the songs and musicians that rose to the top of our first-ever Singer-Songwriter Showcase. More true tales of the agrihood with Red Acre Center's TOPP Night in Cedar City, featuring CA organic farmer Javier Zamora. Plus, Food Justice Coalition Book Club, Sip & Savor for a Cause, SkyWatcher Leo T, and Unplugged Wellness with one last pep talk for our 4Square Tourney at KRCL Day in the Park!
As part of KRCL's Utah Music Month, RA invited folks to post a song about the times—admittedly open to interpretation—to TikTok or Instagram, tagging #krclradio and #utahshowcase. Tonight, we shared some of our favorites:
"Artificial Intelligence" | Alta 'n da 'Tudes
"The End" | Cuervita
"Backwards" | Tariq Abou-Bakr
"Kiss My Ash" | The Glitter Bombs
Next year, KRCL's new venue will be open, and we'd like to do this again. Should we add a singer-songwriter meetup? A 24-hour songwriting challenge? Use the KRCL mobile app to let us know your ideas.
Aug 29: KRCL Day in the Park | 12-5 PM @ International Peace Gardens, 1160 Dalton Ave, SLC. Feat. RA's first-ever 4Square Tournament with Lucas Matelich of Unplugged Wellness. He stops by the show one more time tonight, and Lara is busy blinging out trophies!

Sep 1: Sip & Savor Dine-o-Round starts. Julie Janke, publisher of Millcreek City Lifestyle, says she created the six-week dine-around to showcase exclusive menus at 35+ local restaurants and bars. Click here to download your free digital or print passports and unlock special prix fixe menus across the valley. A portion of the proceeds from the October 11th Festival Finale at Log Haven will benefit WasteLess Solutions' critical food-rescue refrigeration.
Symbria Patterson of Red Acre Center joined Aldine, the Punk Rock Farmer, to share some of the action at last night's Grow, Eat and Support Organic night on Red Acre Farm in Cedar City. The featured guest was Javier Zamora, a Mexican immigrant and lifelong farmer who grows organic rare strawberries, vibrant vegetables, and beautiful flowers on 200 acres in Watsonville, California. Al and Symbria shared a short clip from the evening, with more to come next week!
