Title: Music Director
Reports to: Program Director

FT/Exempt

 Primary Responsibility

In coordination with Program Director develop a Triple A music mix suitable for the 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM week day format. Host daily music program. Supervise music programmers. Coordinate, supervise music staff and volunteers

  • Professional On-Air host duty 4 hrs per weekday
  • Coordinate review of all music for quality or potential FCC violations
  • Report/coordinate contact with labels, artists, trade magazines
  • Stay current with musical trends
  • Work with PD in on-air promotion spots
  • Oversee coordination of CDs for CD of the Month Club
  • Work with music programmers to improve the music mix and overall selections in programming
  • Work with PD & programming staff to evaluate music programs
  • Assist in coordination of on-air performances
  • Participate in programming and staff meetings
  • Appearances at concerts, events, or other station promotions
  • Assist in station fundraising on & off air
  • Other duties as needed.

Successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, professional and engaging On-Air personality, who possess knowledge of current music as well as the roots of contemporary popular music forms: rock, blues, indie, singer-songwriter, and world music. A team player who will work closely with Program Director and programming staff. Three years of professional On-Air, or relevant experience; demonstrated skill in relationship building with audience. Knowledge and/or ability to learn traffic management software; digital audio editing skills a plus. Computer skills necessary.

Salary: $33,000 with health, vacation and 403(b) retirement plan.
