Over the Edge Salt Lake

Go Over to Help Others RISE UP! Over the Edge Salt Lake…Rappel THIRTEEN STORIES down the Maverik Base Camp building in downtown Salt Lake to help raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault in our community and much needed funds in support of the Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center at the YWCA.


Perdida

Based on Shakespeare’s “The Winter’s Tale”“Perdida” is set in pre-Revolutionary Mexico, where powerful Dons ruled like kings.  Shakespeare’s story of passion, jealousy and redemption is retold in the Latino-style of magical realism, using a variety of traditional musical forms.  A group of musicians and actors tell the story of Perdida through music, words and dance.

Dates: October 12-28, Thursday-Saturday @ 7:30pm, with 2pm matinee on Saturdays

Snap Judgment

Live at the Eccles, in association with KUER, presents a live performance of the popular public radio show Snap Judgment Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Eccles Theater in downtown Salt Lake City. Snap Judgment is the popular storytelling show, created and hosted by Detroit native Glynn Washington. Snap Judgment delivers a raw, intimate, musical brand of narrative — daring audiences to see the world through the eyes of another. The live show features performances by some of the nation's top storytellers -- backed by the Snap Playaz band. It’s storytelling, with a beat! Twiddle

With roots at Vermont’s Castleton State University, Twiddle began their extensive touring career in 2005. Over a decade later, the foursome has composed an eclectic catalogue spanning three studio albums of originals, in addition to many live releases. Currently the band is digging in at the studio composing PLUMP Chapter Two, the second half of their acclaimed third album. Having performed at a multitude of international festivals, Twiddle’s trajectory shows zero sign of slowing. Look for them to pack prominent theaters throughout 2016, as they truly break through to the next level.


It Starts With You Speaker Series

KUER and United Way of Salt Lake have partnered for a three-part speaker series, featuring NPR national reporters and local community members to examine and understand the complex issues that divide us as a country and as a community--racism, bigotry, poverty, and more. The Stone Foxes

The Stone Foxes are San Francisco's rock band.  They bear the torch of their predecessors with the knowledge that rock 'n roll can move a new generation.
