Monty Python's Spamalot

This musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the 1975 film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" follows the legendary tale of King Arthur and his knights of the round table on their quest for the Holy Grail. Rude Frenchmen, cancan dancers, the Lady of the Lake and her Laker Girls, killer rabbits, catapulting cows and the somewhat odd knights who say "ni" are just part of the adventures and dangers awaiting King Arthur and his knights of the very, very, very round table.

Bulbs and Blooms

Every fall, Red Butte Garden volunteers and staff plant additional bulbs throughout the Garden and this March, April & May, the Garden will boast a colorful array of over 460,000 blooming bulbs! Of those over 230,000 Daffodils. Other bulbs include Allium, Anemone, Calochortus, Camassia, Chionodoxa, Cyclamen, Erythronium, Fritillaria, Galanthus, Hyacinth, Hyacinthoides, Ipheion, Iris, Leucojum, Muscari, Scilla, Triteleia, and more. (No Tulips however, because deer love them and we try to keep deer out of the Garden.)

John Nemeth

Don’t try to snatch him back and hold him, he’s a man on the move. John Németh had already established himself among the very top ranks of blues musicians and modern soul singers when he decided to break the mold with his new record, FEELIN’ FREAKY. Németh fearlessly crushes all barriers of style and genre with an album of original songs that defies all the usual pigeonholes. Drawing from his strong influences in blues and R&B, as well as contemporary sounds in hip hop and rock & roll, John creates music that is personal as well as universal, and owes its origin to no one but John Németh. John’s songs are groove and melody-driven, laced with thoughtful lyrics and nuanced humor, and cover themes from social issues of gun violence and class values to the pure hedonistic joy of dancing, sexuality and marijuana.

Range 2 River Relay

The third-annual Range 2 River Relay, on May 12th, is an active transportation team relay to explore the conditions of the Salt Lake Valley's waterways from pristine headwaters to buried creeks and channelized canal to meandering river. Teams consist of a biker, boater, and runner. The first teammate bikes the path of City Creek, continuing as the creek flows underground into the stormwater system. This leg ends at the creek's confluence with the Jordan River, the historic Utah State Fairpark property. The second teammate boats the Jordan River northward, following the river as it turns from a channelized canal to a meandering, healthy river. This leg ends at 1800 North. The Jordan River Trail is utilized for the final stretch of the race. The final teammate runs past native riparian vegetation and invasive invaders, finishing back at the Utah State Fairpark. Come learn about local causes and enjoy bites, drinks, and tunes at the Finish Line Celebration. Spectators watch as participants finish the bike leg, start the boat leg, and come into the finish line on the final running leg. Cheer on your favorite team as they finish the race. Make sure to stay for the crowning of this years' Range 2 River Relay champions!
