Wellsville Update, Take Care Utah, SLUT Walk SLC, RadioActive Book Club

Hosted by Billy Palmer and Lara Jones, tonight's RadioActive included:

  • Braidan Weeks of KRCL's Living the Circle of Life with a follow-up on last night's Wellsville City Council meeting and a community's plan to reckon with its own history.

  • Randal Ser, director of Take Care Utah, with details on its 2nd annual Hispanic Heritage Parade on Saturday, September 23rd at The Gateway, SLC, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Take Care Utah’s team of enrollment assisters will be there to offer FREE help with applying for health insurance and raising awareness about Utah being the state with the highest rate of uninsured Hispanic children in the nation.

  • Rachel Jensen and Cat Palmer on SlutWalkSLC's Walk of No Shame 2017, a protest against slut shaming, victim blaming, sexual assault, and rape culture. It happens Saturday, September 30, from 12-3 p.m., starting with speakers at Salt Lake City & County Building, 401 S. State St., SLC, followed by a march up to the Utah Capitol Building and more speakers and art.

  • RadioActive Book Club was back! Catherine Weller of Weller Book Works and Margaret Brennan Neville of The King's English Bookshop brought in some of their favorite reads and recommends.
