For those living in the capital city, the big election question is who will be the next mayor of Salt Lake City? But the answer will affect more than just residents. The city grows each weekday from 180,000 residents to about twice that, as people commute in to work, shop and play. So who is the best choice to lead the city for the next four years? Host Nick Burns talks with the incumbent, Ralph Becker, and the challenger, Jackie Biskupski. At the end of the show, producer Lara Jones brings you a quick update on vote-by-mail with Salt Lake County Elections Director Rozan Mitchell.
According to Mitchell, 14 of the 16 cities in Salt Lake County will be voting by mail this election. If you received a ballot, it must be postmarked no later than Nov. 2. To sort out your registration, locate a ballot drop-off location, or find a place to vote in Salt Lake County on election day—Tuesday, Nov. 3—please visit www.GOT-VOTE.org or vote.utah.gov.
