When it comes to justice reform, the attention seems to fall on drug crimes and mandatory minimum sentencing. But Utah faces more domestic violence than the rest of the nation.

In Utah:

  • 1 in 3 women face domestic violence

  • 13  domestic violence-related murders in the past 6 months

Host Nick Burns talks about justice reform and efforts to curb domestic violence in this edition of RadioActive. He talks about a new lethality assessment protocol for law enforcement with Jenn Oxborrow of the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition and Chief Greg Butler and Lt. Adam Osoro of the Woods Cross Police Department. Plus, thoughts on law enforcement and justice reform from former Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank.
