Punk Rock Farmer Radiothon Eve at Maud's Cafe! Live music from Kate MacLeod, Urban Farm Report with Celia Bell and James Loomis, Flourish Bakery and VOA Youth Resource Center

Guests:

  • Live Music from Kate MacLeod

  • Isaac Reese, March For Our Lives SLC, with an update on the student-led movement for gun law reform.

  • Community programs that help people put their lives back together:

    • VOA of Utah and VOA’s Youth Resource Center, which started Maud’s Caféto end teen homelessness one cup of coffee at a time
      • June 30: Food Truck Faceoff for Charity, Liberty Park, 900 S. 700 S., SLC. Benefitting VOA of Utah and other programs serving homeless members of our community.

  • Flourish Bakery, which teaches the art and skills of professional baking to individuals in life recovery from addiction and/or incarceration.
    • Currently fundraising to begin a pilot program and storefront this fall.

  • Urban Farm Report with Celia Bell of Simplephat Farm in Glendale and James Loomis, who helped to start the Green Team Farm to reclaim an empty city lot and teach basic gardening techniques to women staying at The Road Home.
